The Story Behind Apple of Eden – Two Worlds, One Vision

Apple of Eden was founded in 2010 by Friedrich Lüning from Hamburg and Nelson Gomes from Porto. The true key to the brand's quality lies in Nelson's deep roots in the Portuguese shoe world: growing up in Porto, home to some of Europe's finest shoemaking workshops, Nelson brings decades of personal relationships with artisans, tanneries and makers – relationships you cannot buy, only earn.

Nelson knows the family businesses behind the workshops. He knows which master works which leather best, which atelier is right for which model, and where compromise is simply not an option. This knowledge and this trust are the invisible foundation of every single pair of Apple of Eden.
